My History .......................................... I was born in Granite City, IL on June 6, 1955. I was born into a Christian family. My grandmother was an evangelist. My aunt was a pastor. My parents were both musically talented. Many weekends were spent traveling on the quartet bus. I was raised in a small country town. My daughter was born in July 1980. I now enjoy 3 beautiful grandchildren.................... * My Education ........................................ I graduated East Saint Louis Senior High School in June 1973 as member of National Honor Society. I graduated from Belleville Area College December 1976 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Horticulture / Agriculture. In 1982 I graduated Southern Illinois University-Carbondale IL with Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocational Education. I came to Houston, Texas in August 1982. ............ * My Calling ........................................ In March 2006 I told God that I would go WHEREVER, WHENEVER, HOWEVER he wanted. I longed to fulfill His PLAN and PURPOSE for my life...................... * April 10, 2006 began like any ordinary day with the exception that when I sat down to eat breakfast I broke into tears. All I heard was “Feed my Children”. * My Vision ......................................... On June 4, 2006 I received a vision of an Assistant Ministry with 7 programs to be developed. ........ 1. Food Distribution Center,................. 2. Consultation and Evaluation Center,....... 3. Donation Center and Distribution Center- Retail Shop,.............................. 4. Education and Employment Center,.......... 5. Chapel to feed the Soul,.................. 6. Soup Kitchen,............................. 7. First Aid Station and Evacuation Shelter,. * My Training ...................................... In June 2007 I was introduced to Angel food Ministries. I met with my pastor and he agreed for me to establish First Christian Church Katy as a Host site. We began distribution February 2008. I networked with community churches, organizations, and businesses to extend our outreach to all residence in Katy area. I wrote articles for area newspapers, and subdivision newsletters, went door to door distributing brochures, door hangers, flyers and had banners and signs made to raise awareness of this ministry to our community........................ • 2008 we had touched 159 families thru Angel Food. 25% were from within our congregation. 75% were from our Katy Community,.................... • 2009 we served 272 families. 32 families (12%) were from FCC, 240 families (88%) were from our Katy Community,.................................. • 25 volunteers have stayed strong. Today 43 volunteers have found their place, using their gifts and talents to serve Christ with joy,............ • Managed Outreach Budget,................. • Streamlined customer order processing,... • Wrote step-by step procedures,........... * * * Where the HEART of God touched the HEART of His people.
